Weight Control Program Removal Counseling
On _____________, you reported to________ for a body fat analysis. You were taped at____ which is ____below the maximum allowable body fat of _______ for your age ( ). It has been determined that you no longer exceed the body fat standard. As of this date, you were removed from the weight control program per AR 600-9 para 20f. DA Form 268, Report to Suspend Favorable Personnel Actions (Flag) was removed from your official records by the company commander effective this date per AR 600-31. It is IMPERATIVE that you understand that if it is determined that you exceed your screening table weight and the body fat standard prescribed in AR 600-9, para 20c within 36 months from this date, the following actions will apply:
1. Within 12 months, without medical reason, you will be subject to separation from the service under AR 600-9 para 20j.
2. After the 12th month, but within 36 months from this date, without medical reason, you will be placed on the weight control program again and have 90 days to meet the standards set forth in AR 600-9; meeting standards within 90 days will result in removal from the program; failure to do so can result in separation from the service under AR 600-9 para 20j.
3. If you meet the standards and become pregnant, you will be exempt from the standards for the duration of the pregnancy plus the period of convalescent leave after pregnancy. After medical release, you will be entered into the program again, if you fail to the meet standards IAW AR 600-9 para 20c.
4. If a medical condition is determined to exist, AR 600-9 para 20d will be followed. As part of removal from the weight control program, you are no longer required to attend remedial physical fitness training. However, you are required to maintain a regular workout program, no less than three times per week and maintain healthy eating habits.

It is extremely important that you strive to maintain these standards as set forth in AR 600-9. The Army has traditionally fostered a military appearance which is neat and trim. Further, an essential function for day-to-day effectiveness and combat readiness of the Army is for all soldiers to maintain a healthy and physically fit posture. Self-discipline to maintain proper weight discipline and appearance are essential to the Army's success. I am confident that you will continue to meet these standards.
